I. What is SICOM Display Module (SDM)?

SICOM Display Module (SDM), a component of Spatial Information COMponents (SICOM), can be deployed as a stand-alone independent program (SDM) or as a server (referred to as SDM_Server) that provides GIS services to a client application (referred to as Client). The look and feel of SICOM Display Module, and its functionality in terms of how it allows users to view and manipulate CARIS data, are configured by SICOM Profiler (SP). To learn about SICOM Profiler, please consult user manual RITI-SICOM2_0-TECH-99005. Additional information concerning the capabilities and functionality of SDM are described in RITI-SICOM2_0-TECH-99001, while SDM_Server is discussed in RITI-SICOM2_0-TECH-99004.

This document describes the general usage of the SICOM Display Module program. In Section II, the environment requirements for running SDM are discussed. Section III reviews how to use the SDM program.
